“Hallelujah” translates from Hebrew to mean “Praise Ye Jah!” (from הַלְלוּ, “praise ye!” and יָהּ, “Jah”.) The word “hallēl” in Hebrew means a joyous praise in song. The second part, Yah, is a shortened form of YHWH (the holiest name of the self-existing God).
Speaking on the inspiration behind the song, Deborah says, “For it is written, that they that must worship God must worship Him in spirit and in truth according to John 4:24.”
